About Balatro

Balatro is a poker-themed roguelike deck builder developed by LocalThunk and published by Playstack. In Balatro, you play against the House — not against other players. Your goal is to defeat 8 Antes of increasing difficulty by beating boss Blinds with increasingly powerful poker hands.

Along the way, you buy Jokers that grant powerful scoring effects, collect Tarot and Spectral cards that manipulate your deck, and unlock Vouchers that permanently boost your run. Each run takes 30–60 minutes, with 15 unlockable decks and 8 difficulty stake levels to master.

How Scoring Works

Every poker hand has base Chips and Mult. Your final score = Chips × Mult × Retriggers. Jokers are the primary source of extra Mult and Chips. The key to winning is building a joker synergy that scales exponentially as the Antes get harder.
